History & Culture

We primarily travel to learn about the distinctive culture and history of our destinations, and at Passeport we understand this more than anyone. After all, what we tend to remember for the longest time are the cultural differences and the historical notes that make a place unique in our eyes, those small anecdotes that remind us of our similarities to each other and our ancestors, regardless of our geographical distance.

Over the years we have worked with some of the most well-known cultural institutions in Europe and beyond. We have created an enviable network of fantastic cultural guides all over the world that are not only superbly qualified but are also great fun to be with. We work with historians, writers, artists and curators to ensure that our cultural tours really get behind the scenes, from a special visit of a private collection to the after-hours visit of a well-known museum. Over time we have become so good at this that we have created a separate company to deal with the cultural institutions who so often require our services.

Of course, for a great majority of Passeport clients we weave this cultural aspect into more complex itineraries so that you may break-up a day hiking in Provence with a special archaeologist-led visit of a special monument, or maybe follow a morning cooking class with a historian-led visit of a gallery in Florence.
